Jared:
A surprising topic from you.
So important though. It never ceases to amaze me how certain professions (especially medicine) sleep shame young trainees.
It was typical to expect resident physicians to function, make diagnoses and even perform surgery when they hadn’t seen a bed in 36 hours. This practice is less prevalent than it was and drove a lot of young doctors out of specialities like surgery and obstetrics to other disciplines.
We protect the sleep of our pilots and truck drivers, how about everyone else?
Thanks for raising an important health issue.
Walter
